This Elementary First Aid Course aims to meet the requirement in paragraph 126.96.36.199 of Section A-VI/1 which states that seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship in the business of that ship as part of the ship’s complement with designated safety and pollution-prevention duties in the operation of the ship shall before being assigned any shipboard duties receive an approved approved training or instructions in Elementary First Aid as set out in Table A-VI/1-3 of the STCW, as amended.
At the end of the training programme, seafarers must be able to demonstrate the minimum required standards of competence under Section A-VI/1 of the STCW, as amended.
On successful completion of the training and course assessment, a Certificate of Training Completion shall be issued as evidence of having demonstrated the specific abilities enumerated in the Training Outcomes as specified in Section A-V1/1 paragraph 188.8.131.52 of the STCW Convention, 1978, as amended.
Entry Standard for On-Line learning
Open to all of 18 years of age and above.
Entry Standard for Face to Face Learning after the Completion of On-Line Learning
Trainees completing the on-line learning MUST complete his/her practical training (Face to Face) within 90 days from his/her completion date of on-line training.
Trainees shall submit the following to be qualified for the face to face training:
- Medical certificate in PEME format;
- Copy of the his/her Certificate of Completion for the on-line training of Refresher Course on Survival Craft and Rescue Boat other than Fast Rescue Boats
